Personal Experience & Biography
Justin, has been in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years in total now, first graduating in exercise science and sport in 1994, and then completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy several years later.
During this period, Justin has been involved at the highest level of sport, gaining skills and experience associated with elite performance, well-being and overall health management.These experiences have included work within the Australian Rules Football (AFL) code as well as internal cricket including both at an Australian level with Cricket Australia, as well as an international level working in Asia.
Justin has an extensive knowledge in sports and sports related injuries, from acute diagnostic skills to long term rehabilitation planning and management. He has an extensive strength and condition background, been involved in Pilates for over 25 years now, as well as a high working relationship with some of the country’s best Doctors and Specialists. He has been involved in over 40 research publications including areas of interest including DEXA, heat adaption, training load responses and injury management.
Justin has a special interest in and experience in Visceral Motility and Treatment, which is a gentle manual technique involving specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera (internal organs) and the connective tissue and ligaments that support each organ onto our skeleton.
Justin has attended study in Fascial manipulation by Luigi Stecco (FM), which is a method of manual therapy that targets the fascias of the body, the connective tissue that surrounds all muscles, organs and binds all tissues together.
Finally, Justin has certification in The Thoracic Ring Approach™, which challenges long-held beliefs around the function of the thoracic spine and ribcage and proposes innovative assessment and treatment frameworks based on a broader understanding of how these areas are designed to optimally function… in the context of whole body movement and optimal health of the whole person. This approach was developed by LJLI founder, Dr. Linda-Joy (LJ) Lee, and represents the integration of
knowledge from a wide variety of sources.
